Born, raised, and educated in Central Asia (Ashgabat City, Turkmenistan, a former part of the USSR), Larisa Martino’s passion for art dates back to an early age when she attended drawing classes in after-school programs. Larisa graduated from the University of Textile Industry (Tashkent, Uzbekistan) with a BA in Design & Art. She came to the U.S. in 1995 and worked in the business world for several years before returning to her true passion: art.
Larisa is primarily an easel painter focusing on fantasy themes, illustrative ideas, and fashion sketches in acrylics, ink pen, oil pastels, ink on wet, color pencils, fabrics, faux finishes, and often a combination of the above. Many of her pieces are representations of women: the feminine forms of emotions, moods, and characters. Larisa is also an accomplished muralist, decorative painter and faux finisher. Her work has appeared in galleries and museums, and also graces the walls of numerous private residences and commercial spaces.
Here are a few examples of her work.
